Governor Jay Inslee of Washington has dropped his no-chance bid for president. He announced it during an interview with Rachel Maddow. He said quite plainly “It’s becoming clear that I’m not going to be carrying the ball. I’m not going to be the president, so I’m withdrawing tonight from the race.” He ran a campaign all about climate change, stressing the urgency of the situation in both of his debate appearances. He’s a better Al Gore than Al Gore himself. If anything, he should be happy he got to the debates and made it a serious topic.
He is expected to run for re-election to a third term as Washington governor. With the incumbent back in the race, and no major Republicans declaring as of yet, I am moving the race from Likely Democrat to Safe Democrat.
